- 1908年、創業者田村市郎が国産初の鋼製トロール船第一丸（199総トン）を建造。
- 1911年、田村市郎、田村汽船漁業部を下関に創立。
- 1919年、共同漁業として株式会社に改組。
- 1937年、日本水産に社名変更。
