*1885年、郵便汽船三菱会社と共同運輸会社の合併により、日本郵船会社を設立。

*1943年、三菱汽船株式会社設立（三菱商事船舶部を分離独立）。

*1949年、極東海運株式会社設立（1949年2月　三菱汽船株式会社解散、1949年4月　新たに極東海運株式会社を設立、1949年6月　三菱海運株式会社と改称）。

*1978年、日本貨物航空株式会社（NCA）設立。

*2001年、株式交換により日之出汽船株式会社を完全子会社化。

*2004年、株式会社MTI設立。

*2005年、日本貨物航空株式会社を連結子会社化。
